1700 3rd October. Married John Greengrass, of Beachamwell, at Swaffham.

1708 8th September. Burial of wife Sarah at Beeston next to Mileham. Sarah from Beachamwell.

Child: Matthew Greengrass 1702.

ROBERT RIGHTEOUS 1676. Baptised on the 25th of February at Beeston next to Mileham.

THERE IS FURTHER RESEARCH TO DOThis family is somewhat confusing. Sarah was baptised at Beeston with the surname of Ritis, (her brother as Riteus), and she was married as Ritehouse with her forename being entered in Swaffham register as Mary! Looking around Norfolk these all seem to be variations of a little used surname Righteous.

A marriage for brother Robert has not been found but he could have married and had a son John. A John Riteous, bachelor, married Katherine Cooper at Beeston in 1720 and they lived in Beeston. This John, of course, may have been sister Sarah's child born before her marriage to John Greengrass.

There was a gall Ritious. ("gall" is girl in the Norfolk dialect), buried in 1699 at Beeston mentioned in the registers, and also an infant John Riteous buried in 1723, possibly a son of John and Katherine.
