HOW WE USED TO LIVE  -  Who Was Who

WHO WAS WHO - It is only when an assortment of newspapers and books, along with census returns and various other documents have been looked into that a whole host of interesting people start to appear. Some these people, or indeed their whole families, for various reasons, good or bad, would qualify to be the central characters in a book, while some of the others would certainly need a chapter to themselves. A few of these people are distant relatives, or are related through marriage. The others mentioned just happened to have lived in the same parish, in the same time period as families that are, or were, in the process of being researched, and have over time proved just too interesting to ignore. For some of these people information can run into many pages, but for other people not much more than a brief line or two has been found. Those people with limited information will be included on here, too, in case they can help someone with research in the future, as will be some family groups with familiar surnames, that have also been looked into. Some of them could turn out be potential ancestors, except for, at present, a missing link.
