THERE IS FURTHER RESEARCH TO DO - The baptism of Henry Wright has so far not turned up. He may have been younger than the age stated on his burial as his wife's burial age was several years out. His first name could have, by mistake, been written wrongly in Necton baptism register.

Samuel Wright, yeoman, in 1758, leased two messuages at Necton, and lands at Necton and West Bradenham for 21 years from Thomas Bridges of Esq. Surrey for £16 a year. Thomas Bridges was lord of the manor of Binham and the owner of East Bradenham hall and, also held land at East and West Bradenham and Necton. Samuel Wright died in 1763 and was buried at West Bradenham. He originally had or has a gravestone. There is an NCC 1763 Administration no.73 (378) for Samuel Wright of Necton giving Mary Wright was his widow.

Samuel Wright looks possible to have been the one baptised at Hoe in 1700. He married Mary Manning at Scarning in August 1726 and they had a son Samuel baptised there in March 1726. (There are two possibilities for the baptism of Mary Manning, 1700 at Shipdham or 1696 at Little Dunham. The Little Dunham Mary had several connections with Necton.) Mary looks to have been buried at Necton in 1734.

In the next reference to Samuel Wright he has another wife named Mary, (As a widow she was buried at West Bradenham in 1783.) Samuel and Mary had children baptised at Necton. Their children that didn't survive were also buried in the adjoining parish of West Bradenham.

Bap. Mary Wright 1739

Bap. Elizabeth Wright 1740

Bap. Samuel Wright 1741 Bur. 1742.

Bap. Sarah Wright 1743. She had an illegitimate son, Samuel (a tailor), and died unmarried.

Bap. Esther Wright 1745 Bur. 1747.

Bap. Samuel Wright 1746

Bap. Frances Wright 1747

Bap. Esther Wright 1749

There was an infant Frances Wright, with no parents' names, buried at West Bradenham in 1740. She may have been their firstborn.

If the above can somehow be confirmed Samuel's siblings are available. and his parents were Samuel Wright and Elizabeth. This Samuel was buried, in 1724, at Scarning, and there is an NCC 1724 Administration to be read, no.73. Elizabeth was buried at Swanton Morley in 1728. Their other children were: Thomas bur. 1688 at Hoe, Ann bap. 1693 Hoe, Susan 1695 Swanton Morley, Samuel bap. 1698 Swanton Morley and bur. at Hoe.

A further generation could be yet another Samuel with the following children all baptised at Hoe:

Mary Wright 1624, George Wright 1627, Thomas Wright 1633, Anne Wright 1637.

Burial of wife Mary 1653 at Hoe.

Second marriage not found. She may have been another Mary.

Bap. Samuel Wright 1664. The one above with the Elizabeth.

Burial of Samuel Wright 1668 at Hoe.
